Harry Potter Mash :P

I think the thing about Harry Potter is that there is this childhood innocence about it, something we all kind of crave for. When good and bad is so straight forward and that he's also got the courage to do what he's supposed to do. He's someone we all, at times wish we could be, but more often than not, fail to be so.

I always wondered how it would feel like to have fanart of yourself . Anyway, I always thought that the cartoon of Harry and co. didn't quite fit up to what I had thought them to be like. So here is what I would like to think (and hopefully) a better representation of what I imagined him to be like.

Process:
Started off with Harry Potter, then I actually ended up drawing up layers, like in animations, with Ron and Hermione on one layer and the background for the other. Unintended at first, of course, but then I got carried away...

Sketch- Harry Potter (2 hours because the first sketch was not quite what I wanted so I did it again),
Ron and Hermione (20min.),
Background (20min.)
Outlined- Harry and Background with black felt tip pen (40mins)

Coloured in Adobe photoshop approx. 10+ hours I used a lot of the burn and dodge tool and a reference picture for the colours. The swirly thing in his hand was actually a blob filtered with the swirl tool, then edited to fit into the picture, absolute fluke!

Last Remarks- I'm Satisfied, took about 15 hours of work over a month and lots of disturbances. I think I'm improving, which is the big thing.
